Throughout this article, you’ll find links to other Bridgestar resources that offer more in-depth information about each topic covered in the six steps, as well as advice from individuals with experience in the areas of self-assessment, resume and cover-letter writing, interviewing, and social networking.

National Urban Fellows is one of the oldest and finest leadership development organizations in the U.S. particularly for people of color and women. For 40 years it has developed leaders who identify issues, shape solutions and form policy.
The fellowship’s 14-month scholarship program links academics with a nine-month mentorship that culminates in a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from Bernard M. Baruch College, School of Public Affairs, of the City University of New York. It is the only program in the country where Fellows receive an advanced degree and critical leadership experience.
Today, 1,100 Alumni make a personal and professional impact in government and nonprofit organizations across the United States.
In 2009, National Urban Fellows also established the America’s Leaders of Change Program, created for leaders on the rise in government, non-profit and private sectors. The goal of the program is to accelerate the leadership potential of National Urban Fellows' alumni, mentors and partner participants who are currently successful leaders, and who possess the talent to effect positive change in our nation.
National Urban Fellows continues to develop the leadership for a changing America.
During this 40th Anniversary year, National Urban Fellows has issued a Call to Action, enlisting participating leaders who will create a dynamic national network of partners committed to inspiring Excellence and Diversity in Public Service Leadership for America.
