Position Details Position Title: Director of Development Function: Fundraising/Development Position Type: Full-Time (Paid) Posted On: 7/21/2010 Job Description: PAX / Real Solutions to Gun Violence, an innovative grassroots and media-driven, national nonprofit organization based in New York City that develops highly acclaimed youth violence prevention programs, seeks an experienced, energetic, innovative and organized professional to join the leadership team.



The Director of Development is responsible for overseeing all fundraising activities including foundation, government and corporate grants; serving as the organization’s representative to funding sources; identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding corporate and individual donors and foundations.



Responsibilities include:



·      Design and implement annual fund-raising plan focusing on individual, foundation grants, corporate contributions and government grants.



·      Maintain and build upon the organization’s existing base of donors through direct mail, cultivation events and online communications



·      Develop positive relationships with government officials to garner support and funding from federal, state and city.



·      Research potential grant sources and oversee grant proposals.



·      Cultivate and leverage board members to expand and develop funding network.



·      Identify and cultivate corporate funding sources. Qualifications: Successful candidates will have a minimum of five years of experience in non-profit government, event, individual, major gifts and corporate fund raising, management and finance skills, and strong oral, written and computer skills.
